What’s the story?
Marco Verratti has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid for quite some time and this summer, both clubs are plotting a move for him. With both the Spanish giants interested, the Italian midfielder had a tough choice to make.
However, Diario GOL are now reporting that Verratti has opted to join Real Madrid over Barcelona. The 24-year-old believes that Los Blancos are building a proper team for the future and wants to be a part of it.

Verratti has been in impressive form ever since he joined Paris Saint-Germain from Pescara in 2012. The young midfielder is seen as the future of their midfield by the Spanish giants as well as other European giants.
The Italian too has been issuing 'come and get me' pleas this season, and his agent has confirmed that he is looking for a move away.“He has been in Paris for five years now, and he has to make a decision, learn a lot and not win or earn and become a champion. It is not a problem of money. Whoever signs Verratti will pay him a lot of money. One thing is certain: if he leaves PSG, it will be for a top European club”, said his agent.
