PDP says APC has devilish mindset for denying it criticized Pastor Adeboye

Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the the denial of the recent attack on Pastor Enoch Adeboye by the state All Progressives Congress (APC), was a mere afterthought.
Maintaining that the APC has no basis to deny the comment it made regarding the clergyman’s commendation of Governor Ayodele Fayose, PDP said the attack only demonstrates the devilish mind-set and political rascality of the ruling party at the centre.
Ekiti State APC Chairman, Mr Jide Awe, was alleged to have said at the weekend that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Adeboye may have been bribed by Governor Ayodele Fayose for the clergyman to commend Fayose, despite what it said was the governors’s “untiring insults and abuses on President Muhammadu Buhari.”
He has however denied the reports and said he did not speak or issue any statement condemning commendations given to the state governor by the RCCG General Overseer.
He described the stories circulating in the social media as deliberate lie as APC would never dabble into any controversial issue involving religious leaders.
But the state PDP, in its reaction described the attack as a “demonstration of the devilish mind-set of the party and height of political rascality, denying the statement was a mere afterthought.”

The PDP noted that Pastor Adeboye commending the state governor, on his courage and willingness to defend his people and the cause of the common man in the country was a statement of fact.
Spokesperson of the PDP in the state, Mr Jackson Adebayo, in a statement on Monday, said; “it is the height of crude politics for the APC to insinuate that a man of God of Pastor Adeboye’s standing took bribe to commend Governor Fayose for what is obvious.
“Pastor Adeboye is a respected man of God. He is not a politician. He only said what he saw about Governor Fayose and the only Nigerians, who won’t want to accept the fact that the governor has stoutly defended Ekiti people and the common people of Nigeria, are those in the APC.”
Mr Adebayo, who described the rebuttal, issued late on Sunday, by the APC Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun as an afterthought, added that; “The APC in Ekiti State has strong history of political intolerance such that anyone not with them must be condemned at all cost.”
